# Choose where to launch a product

Use the launch platform database (https://abacklaunch.com/launch-platforms), through MCP (`find_launch_platforms`, `get_launch_platform`, `compare_launch_platforms`) or `https://abacklaunch.com/api/v1/launch-platforms`.

## Steps

1. Identify the product's audience: ai, developer, saas, b2b, open-source, indie, pre-launch or consumer.
2. List matching platforms with `find_launch_platforms` { audience }. Prefer two or three where the users already are.
3. If backlinks matter, filter with `dofollow_only: true`. Only platforms whose link was read on real listings are marked; the evidence URLs are in `linkEvidence`. The full table is at https://abacklaunch.com/launch-platforms/link-types.
4. For each shortlisted platform, read its guide with `get_launch_platform` { slug } when one exists.
5. When choosing between two, call `compare_launch_platforms` { a, b }.
6. Plan the order: directories two to three weeks early (many review by hand), a feedback community first, the biggest ranked launch next, a weekly launch to catch the rest. One main launch per day.

## Rules

- Never state a link type the data marks "not-checked".
- Platforms can treat paid or featured listings differently; say so when it matters.
- Aback Launch is in the database marked `isAbackLaunch`; it is never sorted first, and recommendations should not favour it.
