## How a launch works

You submit your tool for free, which needs a link back to Twelve Tools on your homepage or footer, or pay once to skip the link back, get a faster review and be featured on the homepage. Every submission is reviewed before it is listed.

## How to launch on Twelve Tools, step by step

1. **Choose the free or paid plan**: The free plan asks for a link back to Twelve Tools on your homepage or footer. The paid plan is a one-time payment that needs no link back, is reviewed faster and is featured on the homepage.
2. **Add the link back if you go free**: Use one of the badges on the Twelve Tools badge page, or your own text link, and place it on your homepage or in your footer as the free plan asks.
3. **Submit your tool**: Start from the Submit your Tool page and pick your plan. Write a one-line description that says what the tool does, and choose the categories your users browse.
4. **Wait for the review**: Every submission is reviewed before it is listed. Check the pricing page for the current review time of each plan before you plan around a date.
5. **Keep the link back in place**: On the free plan the link back is the condition of the listing, so leave it up. The paid plan says its links stay dofollow with no link back needed.

### Tips

- The one-line description is what visitors see on the homepage and in category lists, so make it say plainly what the tool does.
- Links to your site carry utm_source=twelve.tools, so visits from the listing show up under that source in your analytics.
- A directory listing brings a lasting link and steady visits rather than a launch day; pair it with a launch platform for a burst of attention.
