How the badge works
Every listing links to your site. Add our badge to your site and that link becomes dofollow. Paying never changes the link.
Three steps
- 1
Pick a badge and copy the code
Choose a style on the badge page. The snippet is a plain link to abacklaunch.com with the badge image inside it.
- 2
Paste it on your site
Anywhere a visitor can see it: the footer, an about page or a press page. Keep the link as it is.
- 3
We check it and your link turns dofollow
We check for the badge when you submit, and again every week. Once it is found, the link from your listing is dofollow.
What changes on your listing
Without the badge
<a href="yoursite.com" rel="nofollow">
A normal link. Visitors click through, but it passes no ranking credit.
With the badge
<a href="yoursite.com">
A dofollow link from your permanent launch page, for as long as the badge stays up.
What counts as the badge
- A visible link to abacklaunch.com on the website your listing points to
- The link has no rel="nofollow" on it
- It is not hidden with CSS (display: none, zero size and the like)
The code from the badge page already meets all three. If you restyle it, keep the link.
When we check
- At submission
- Right away
- After that
- Every Monday, 03:00 UTC
- Missing on a free listing
- Removed after 14 days
Questions
Does paying for a launch make the link dofollow?
No. Paying buys a launch date, placement and reach. It never changes the link. Free and paid listings follow the same rule: the badge is what makes the link dofollow.
What if I do not add the badge?
Your listing still links to your site, with rel="nofollow". Visitors can still click through, and your launch page is still indexed.
When do you check?
When you submit, and then every Monday at 03:00 UTC. You can add the badge later: the next check picks it up.
What happens if the badge goes missing?
The link drops back to nofollow and we email you. A free listing whose badge stays missing for 14 days is removed, since the badge is what a free listing is exchanged for. Paid listings are never removed for this.
My site blocks bots. Will that count against me?
No. If we cannot read your site at all, for example behind bot protection, nothing changes until we can.
Can a link be nofollow even with the badge?
Yes, rarely. A moderator can set a link to nofollow for quality reasons, and the listing says so.
Ready to add it?
Pick a style, copy the code, paste it on your site.
