Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-10-24

This privacy policy applies to our website and the services provided by the Company ("we", "us"). Questions: contact@example.com.

What we collect and why

Account data. When you create an account we collect your name, email address and a hashed password, to provide the service and contact you about your account. Legal basis: performance of a contract.

Usage data. We collect pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location from IP address and referral source, to understand and improve the service. Legal basis: legitimate interest, or consent where required.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the service. They process data on our instructions. We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data while your account is active and for as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymize it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the CCPA), you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. Email us to make a request; you may also complain to your data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the CCPA unless stated above.

International transfers

We are based in our home country. Where data is transferred abroad, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and other reasonable measures to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will post changes on this page and update the effective date. For material changes we will notify you.

What a privacy policy must say

What personal data you collect, why, the legal basis (under GDPR), who you share it with (your processors, like hosting, payments and analytics), how long you keep it, where it is stored, and how people can access, correct or delete it. It must match what your product actually does.

App stores, payment processors, ad platforms and many laws require one, so publish it before launch.

Questions

Do I need a privacy policy?

If you collect any personal data, including emails or analytics, almost certainly yes.
